About Creditcoin (CTC)

What Is Creditcoin (CTC)?

Creditcoin was launched in May 2019 by a global team of experts based in Estonia, Canada, Nigeria, the U.S. and South Korea. The platform touts itself as a "borderless credit investment network" that helps unbanked people in emerging markets gain access to credit. Credit is an important prerequisite for accessing everyday services in fields such as healthcare and education.

CTC, Creditcoin's native token, is used for utility purposes.

CTC Price

As of this writing (Nov. 23, 2022), CTC is priced at $0.34 per token — a far cry from its all-time high (ATH) of over $8.67. Amid a struggling bear market, the CTC token has fared poorly. From July to November 2022, its price has lingered in the $0.30 range. To date, CTC’s all-time low stands at $0.13, recorded on March 13, 2020.

So far, Creditcoin has partnered with platforms such as TRON, Stacks and Polygon Technology, with more exciting partnerships on the way. CTC is available for trading on various exchanges such as Bybit, Upbit and Kucoin. As more users join and start using the Creditcoin network, the value of CTC will undoubtedly grow.

What Is CTC Used For?

CTC gives users access to the Creditcoin network and can be used to pay transaction fees. The token is also valuable for adding ask orders into the loan market of Creditcoin's ecosystem.

According to the project’s white paper, Creditcoin also offers an ERC20 token called G-CRE, which acts as the platform's vesting and trading token. G-CRE can be swapped for CTC in a one-way exchange. While CTC is designed as the primary utility token of the Creditcoin project, G-CRE can be perceived as a complementary token that helps reduce CTC's volatility.

CTC Tokenomics

CTC has a maximum supply of 2 billion tokens, with a circulating supply of 207.25 million.

A diverse group of global investors participated in the token's launch. CTC's token sale kicked off with a hard cap of $30 million and a soft cap of $10 million.

Four major participating groups received CTC tokens during the initial distribution schedule:

  • 70% of CTC was allocated to miners

  • 15% went to Guwa Inc. (Creditcoin's technology provider) to be vested for six years

  • 10% went to investors, with a 6- to 3-year linear vesting period

  • 5% was distributed to public works, community-building and network governance

Who Is the Founder of Creditcoin?

Tae Oh, previously a freelance Google developer, is the founder of Creditcoin. He is the founder and CEO of Gluwa, which comprises individuals across the U.S., South Korea and Canada.
